I know. We deserve a more dedicated writer. The Devils haven’t played this good in over 10 years. We’re finally playing at an elite level and all we get on here is one blog a month. This site sucks for a NJ fan 🙄🙄🙄🙄

We need to get him some quality line mates and not just plugs that they hope will fill the void

Shara is too streaky and when he isn't scoring is invisible and whoever plays on the other side is MIA

I know people think get Meier and put him on Nico's wing because they are both swiss but could work well with Hughes

Don't think we can go into the offseason and hope to sign a player that can be on jacks wing, don't even know what decent UFA forwards there are

Pastrnak is the only top tier free agent winger that could be available in free agency, but it doesnt seem likely that he makes it there. So yeah its gonna need to be a trade, either by the deadline or in the summer. Then there's the whole Bratt saga and if he'll even sign long term as well.

From everything that's out there, if Meier goes somewhere else, the Devils have been linked to Boeser, Tarasenko, Bennett/Reinhart/Duclair depending on where Florida is come the deadline, Kane, and Domi.

Gotta imagine there's other players Fitz could be targeting as backup plans that haven't been reported on yet, maybe someone like Crouse/Schmaltz from Arizona or Buchnevic from the Blues if they decide to full sell, but no use in speculating though because we don't know who is actually available. Multiple trades from Fitz have come out of nowhere and had zero prior reporting of interest(Marino/Siegs/Vanecek)

If Meier doesn't work out at the deadline, I don't mind getting Tarasenko from the Blues especially if the price tag is going to be cheap. Seeing that they might just let some team overpay for Meier when he'll just walk to FA anyway just save the assets for something else then.

I like Duclair as well but concerned about his injury status. It is nice that he has another year on his contract for cheap so it fits the team control angle that Fitz has been talking about.

If tarasenko is cheap enough sure, but after that I’d almost rather they don’t make any moves. Everything seems like it wouldn’t be a real boost to the team.
